The basic concept of this design is to light a simple folded piece of Japanese paper suspended in a wooden frame. The lamp works best on a piano or tall shelf so the light bulb is not visible. Instead, the shade seems to glow from within, like a ghost gently swaying in its frame. The result is a harmonious contrast between the organic shape of the shade (playfully held together with a paper clip) and the carefully detailed lines of the rectilinear box.
