Fruit bowl
This Fruit Basket was inspired by architectural models, expressing a topography through a series of cross sections. The result is an implied bowl shape that is ephemeral and abstract, set into a square wooden shape. The overall proportion is based on the golden section while the center is a circle set within a square. The ends pick up the theme of the curved center pieces now turned around as handles.
More than just a formalist exercise, however, this fruit basket performs very well, keeping fruit fresh for a long time.
