This unique piece of furniture combines both lighting and storage, turning a dresser into accent lighting for a room. Apart from creating ambient lighting, the hidden LED strips also provide bright task lighting for seeing the content when opening the drawers. As in my other dressers, I am keeping with the theme of dropping the “box around a box” of typical dressers and instead having drawer sides held up by an exoskeletal metal frame – thus turning the actual drawers into the “wooden box” of the dresser. The translucent front panels are from a continuous piece of plexiglass depicting a field of grain. The solid brass pulls playfully pick up on the theme of angled stalks and tie the piece together visually. The result is a striking piece of furniture that would be a unique accent for any room.
